Medigap Plans Chart - 10 Standardized Medigap Plans at a Glance

The Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) Plans Chart below is an example of all 10 standardized Medicare Supplement plans.

When reviewing the chart if you see a checkbox in a column, the Medicare Supplement policy will cover 100% of the benefit.  Should you see a percentage in a checkbox, it means the policy will cover the benefit up to the percentage listed leaving you responsible for the remainder.  If a row is blank, that benefit is not covered and you would be responsible for 100% of those costs.

When you see a highlighted plan like Plans F and G, these are the plans we recommend most often.

* Plan F also offers a high-deductible plan. If you choose this option, this means you must pay for Medicare-covered costs up to the deductible amount of $2,220 in 2017 before your Medicare Supplement plan pays anything.

** After you meet your out-of-pocket yearly limit and your yearly Part B deductible ($183 in 2017), the Medicare Supplement pays 100% of covered services for the rest of the calendar year.

*** Plan N pays 100% of the Part B coinsurance, except for a copayment of up to $20 for some office visits and up to a $50 copayment for emergency room visits that don’t result in an inpatient admission.
